Gisborne

The Gisborne region is location on the northeastern corner of the North Island of New Zealand and has a population of around 47,000. Gisborne is sheltered by high country and has a dry, sunny climate. The region has strong links back to its Māori heritage, and is home to one of the largest proportions of Māori in New Zealand.

Gisborne consists of the biggest district council In New Zealand, and it's economy largely consists of agriculture horticulture, fishing, farming, forestry and tourism.

The region consists of one Unitary Authority; the Gisborne District Council.
